Dione Rossiter, Ph.D.
Dione (Dee) Rossiter is a Science Communication, Engagement, and Outreach Specialist who has previously worked with non-profits, universities, government offices, and for-profit businesses to improve their science engagement efforts; this includes creating new and/or improving existing science communication, marketing, education, diversity, and outreach initiatives. Dee is currently the Executive Director for Science at Cal, a program that shares the excitement and relevance of UC Berkeley research with public audiences. Dee’s previous positions include: Scientific Programs & Outreach Manager at the Carnegie Institution for Science, providing leadership of programs that broaden the reach of Carnegie’s scientific research; and the Director of the Mass Media Fellowship at the American Association for the Advancement of Science, placing scientists in news outlets across the country to create science news for public audiences. Dee received her bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley and her Ph.D. from UC Santa Cruz, both in Earth & Planetary Sciences.
Public Engagement Specialist
Rosalynn joined Science at Cal in 2020, bringing her experience in science education and campus partnerships through her previous work at the Lawrence Hall of Science. She is passionate about working with the public and engaging others in STEM learning. As Public Engagement Specialist, she manages Science at Cal’s digital presence, marketing, events, and partnerships. Rosalynn earned her B.S. in Wildlife, Fish and Conservation Biology from UC Davis.
