Science at Cal at the 2022 Bay Area Science Festival
The Bay Area Science Festival is BACK!
Science at Cal joins the fun this year with four exciting new programs described below. In addition to what Science at Cal has planned, all of our friends and partners across UC Berkeley will be participating in their own exciting ways! For a complete listing of events across the Bay Area (including some hosted by UC Berkeley) check out the full event listing: https://www.bayareasciencefestival.org/events/. See you at the festival!
After two years, the Bay Area Science Festival’s Discovery Day at Oracle Park is back! Science at Cal will be there with an activity called “Brain Games.” See how our complex human brains can be fooled with just a few sheets of paper and movement! In this activity, participants design, build, and test an optical illusion of their own. Put your creativity and brain to the test at the Science at Cal exhibitor booth! Many other UC Berkeley groups will have exciting STEM activities at booths of their own! So make sure you come find us in booths P19 and P21 in the “UC Berkeley STEM Zone” on the Promenade!
Can we really tackle bias and discrimination? Join two experts Dr. Linet Mera & Dr. Arianne E Eason as we dive into the pool of representation, erasure, discrimination, and what we can do about it. Sign up for our active practice virtual session through Zoom or follow along through our livestream links.
¡Exploremos el laboratorio! Un evento virtual en el que participarán cinco científicos de la UC Berkeley, quienes darán un recorrido por el laboratorio y compartirán con nosotros el trabajo que realizan a diario.
Meet a scientist, be a scientist! Science at Cal and The Lawrence Hall of Science are hosting a full-blown SCIENCE-PALOOZA on the beautiful and spacious outdoor plaza of The Lawrence overlooking the Bay. This event will showcase over 15 interactive and engaging STEM activities from UC Berkeley departments, student groups, scientists, artists, designers, and our partners. Come enjoy science demos, experiments, hands-on activities, meet-the-scientists booths, and more!
